The Highways Agency are undertaking essential road maintenance works on the A34, between the West Ilsley Interchange and the A417 over bridge near Harwell. The preliminary works for the scheme began on 10th January 2007.

Works have been progressing well on the A34 Chilton Major Maintenance Scheme. On Thursday 1st March the southbound lane restriction was removed during the day and the northbound lane closure was switched over from lane 2 to lane 1.
From Saturday 3rd March, the northbound single lane restriction will be removed during the day. Night time works will continue both northbound and southbound – with a combination of lane 1 and lane 2 closures, until Friday 9th March.
