Details of the April and May Meetings…
Chile
Wednesday 18th April, 8pm, Village Hall
Modern France and the fight back against the New World Challenge
Wednesday 16th May, 8pm, Village Hall
For our April meeting, our very own chairman, Mike Collins will be back at the helm taking us on a trip to Chile. We will taste and learn about a selection of wines from this “New World” country – four whites and four reds will be presented.
Also to let you know about the May meeting. We have booked Ian Hewson, from the Wineman Ltd in Streatley to come and talk to us about modern French wines and how the French are fighting back against the challenge from the New World. Ian is a director of Wineman Ltd which is a small, independent Wine Merchant, specialising in the supply of quality wine to private and corporate clients, pubs, restaurants and clubs. Wineman Ltd prides themselves in sourcing and supplying wines which reflect the enthusiasm and energy of the winemakers who have made them. For further information on the company please see www.wineman-shop.co.uk
The price of the April event is £5 per member and the price of the May event is £10 per member. (This is purely to cover the cost of the wine, the speaker is not charging for his time.) Hopefully you are able to attend one or both of these meetings so please book by Tuesday 10th April for the April meeting and Monday 7th May for the May meeting. I will be sending out several reminders for these events but we thought we would give you all good warning of the May event as we have booked the speaker well in advance.
Please don’t forget to pre-book your place at either of these events as unfortunately we cannot accept bookings on the night.
