Directions
Upton lies below the Ridgeway on the A417, south of Didcot and is easily accessible from the A34 via the Chiltern Junction (Northbound) or Milton Junction (Southbound).
We are also blessed with being on the National Cycle Network, with Route 44 passing through the village. This can be used if travelling from Didcot or if arriving by train to Didcot Parkway train station.
Parking
Free parking will be available on the recreational field adjacent to Upton Village Hall. Parking is at the owners risk and the organisers or their officials take no responsibility for any theft or damage caused.
Registration
Registration will open at 8.00am on the morning of the event inside Upton Village Hall. Registration is compulsory for all participants on all routes. On registration you will receive your Entrance Number. No entrance number, no ride.
Catering
Tea and coffee will be available throughout the day with a selection of other goodies available too.
A BBQ will be available from mid-day onward. Food and drink will also be available at the George and Dragon.
Entertainment
There will be “Dirt Jumping” demonstrations on the recreation ground throughout the day, with plenty of opportunity to give it a go yourself.
Running concurrently with the event will be the first ever Upton Beer Festival, courtesy of the George and Dragon.
As well as a good selection of ales, live music will add to the festival feel.
Other services
St John’s Ambulance will be present on the day. They will be based at Upton Village Hall and will have two mobile medics out on the routes.
The police will be in attendance, providing a security coding service to cyclists as well as other crime prevention advice.

On route
There will be regular way-markers on route and marshals at certain points, including all road crossings. An emergency phone number will be provided on the day and should be used in the case of any issues while on the ride.

* Riders on the 45 mile route are required to check-in at Upton Village Hall on completion of the first 25 miles. Any rider checking-in after 1.30pm will be requested to withdraw from the rest of the ride on the grounds that there will be insufficient time to complete the route.
