Rules and Regulations

The Uptonogood is run in accordance with the Rules and Regulations for; and Best Practice in Non-Competitive Off Road Endurance and Leisure Rides, as set out by the British Cycling Federation.

Rules & Conditions:

  1. This event is open to all persons without prejudice. However the 25 mile route is restricted to riders 16 years and over (under 18′s must be accompanied by a parent or guardian) while the 45 mile route is open to 18 years and over only.
  2. When cycling on a road, participants must abide by the highway code and should not cycle more than two abreast.
  3. Participants must wear a CE approved hard shell helmet at all times and be suitably prepared for the prevailing weather.
  4. Participants are not permitted to have their own ‘personal’ support vehicle.
  5. Participants must not indulge in any actions which may endanger themselves or other participants, spectators, or event officials
  6. The Uptonogood is NOT a race and participants are required to be courteous in their conduct when overtaking. Should any participant witness an accident or breakdown, it is incumbent on them to report the incident to the nearest marshal.
  7. Entry fee cheques must be made payable to UVHAT. Only cash will be accepted on the day.
  8. All participants must register on the day to receive an entry number and sign out on completion of their chosen course.
  9. Personal accident insurance is NOT provided by the organizers. It is incumbent upon participants to provide their own insurance at their own discretion.
