Wine Appreciation Club
The Club, formed in 2005, provides village residents, their families and friends with informal monthly meetings at which we taste wines relating to a particular theme. Meetings are often attended by more than thirty members and their guests, and eight wines are tasted alongside information provided by a speaker – often a Club member, otherwise a visiting professional. No prior knowledge of wine is required! The meetings are intended to be informal and inclusive, providing an opportunity for members to socialise and to welcome newcomers to the village.
We meet in the Village Hall on the third Wednesday of the month, except for December when we meet a week earlier and July and August when we have a summer break. Meetings start at 8pm, and topics for forthcoming meetings are shown on the Club website (www.uptonwineclub.com).
Full membership is open to all residents of Upton over the age of 18 years, their immediate families (children over the age of 18 years and parents), ex-residents of Upton and those closely associated with the village. Guest membership is available for invited guests of members, subject to an attendance limit of two meetings per Club year.
At present annual membership is £15.00 and guest membership £2.00. The charge for each meeting varies, but £10 is typical, offering exceptional value. New members are always welcome and if you are interested in joining please contact the Chairman (details below) or check out our website: www.uptonwineclub.com
