The VPA Autumn Show is in the Methodist Hall on Saturday afternoon, 9th September; anyone can show.

ENTRY FEES; 20p per entry. Free to Children
The closing date for all entries (written, e-mailed or telephoned) is 10:00 pm. on Wednesday 6th September 2006
Entry forms together with entry fees should be returned to: The Show Secretary, Margaret Maytham, at Toad Hall, Upton (or c/o The Blewbury Post Office)

All entries must be your own work; horticultural items must have been in your possession for more then 3 months unless grown in a shorter time from seed. Floral Art entrants may purchase flowers and foliage for their arrangements.
Please try to name the varieties that you display in any of the Horticultural Classes:
FLOWER SECTION ‘M’
- M1 Vase of any dahlia, 3 blooms, one or more types or cultivars
- M2 Bowl of mixed dahlias, diameter of bowl not exceeding 9 inches, (230mm)
- M3 Single stem of a dahlia, any type or cultivar
- M4 Vase of chrysanthemums, 3 blooms, one or more cultivars
- M5 Single stem of a chrysanthemum
- M6 Single stem of a flower grown from bulb, tuber or corm
- M7 Vase of Michaelmas daisies, 3 stems, not dwarf, one or more cultivars
- M8 Vase of annuals, not less than 3 types of annual
- M9 Vase of annuals, not more than 6 stems, one type of annual
- M10 Single stem of an annual
- M11 Vase of roses, 3 blooms, large flowered (Hybrid Tea), one or more cultivars
- M12 Single stem of a floribunda rose
- M13 One specimen rose, large flowered, any type, any cultivar
- M14 Vase of berried shrubs/trees, not a rose, not more than 6 stems, one or more types of berried shrub / trees
- M15 Vase of any other flower, not mentioned above, not more than 6 stems, one type of flower
- M16 Single stem of a perennial flower
- M17 Vase of mixed garden flowers, a minimum of 3 types of garden flower
- M18 A flowering pot plant, in pot not exceeding 12 inches (305mm) in diameter
- M19 Cactus or succulent plant, in a pot not exceeding 12 inches (305mm) in diameter
- M20 Largest sunflower head (as measured across the diameter, petal to petal)
FRUIT SECTION ‘N’
- N1 Plate of 4 dessert apples
- N2 Plate of 4 cooking apples
- N3 Plate of 4 pears
- N4 Plate of 7 plums, damsons or gages
- N5 Plate of any other fruit, one type, not mentioned above.
Class N5 only – more than one entry per member permitted
VEGETABLE SECTION ‘O’
- O1 4 potatoes, white
- O2 4 potatoes, coloured
- O3 9 shallots, necks whipped or tied with raffia
- O4 3 onions, large, flat or globe, sets allowed, necks whipped or tied with raffia
- O5 6 onions, each not exceeding 6 ounces, necks whipped or tied with raffia
- O6 6 runner beans, with stalks
- O7 4 legumes (pod of peas or beans)
- O8 3 carrots, with leaf stalk of not more than 3 inches/75mm (please label with type)
- O9 3 parsnips, with leaf stalk of not more than 3 inches/75mm
- O10 2 cobs of sweet corn, with husks closed, silks intact and not more than one inch/125 mm of shank
- O11 6 tomatoes with calyces
- O12 6 cherry tomatoes with calyces
- O13 1 marrow (not more than 12 ins long)
- O14 Any other vegetable not mentioned above, not less than 2 specimens
- O15 Vase of mixed herbs, named, 3 varieties, culinary or medicinal
- O16 Collection of 6 different vegetables, one specimen of each kind. Space allowed 18 ins/458mm x table width

- P9 An amusingly shaped vegetable – any kind
- P10 Largest truss of tomatoes (to be judged on number of tomatoes. Note, tomatoes do not need to be ripe)

- R1 “Falling Leaves†An all foliage design , not exceeding 30 inches/760mm in height, width or depth.
- R2 “Whispering Winds†a design for a dining table, not exceeding 12 inches/305mm in height, 18 inches/458mm width or depth.
- R3 “First Snowflakes†A petite exhibit, not exceeding 9 inches/230mm in height, width or depth. For Novices only, (see Section A)
- R4 “Scarecrow†An exhibit not exceeding 18 inches/458mm in height, width or depth
A special trophy will be awarded to the exhibitor with the most points in this section.
COOKERY SECTION ‘S’
- S1 Jar of Jelly- any variety
- S2 Jar of jam – any variety
- S3 Jar of chutney – any variety (chutney should be at least two months old) S4 Jar of pickles – any variety
- S5 A Dundee cake
- S6 1lb loaf of bread, any recipe (baked in a tin)

- S11 4 meringues
- S12 A quarter pound (approximately) of confectionary- served on a plate.
- S13 A bottle of homemade lemonade – a glass to be provided for tasting.
WINE SECTION ‘T’

- T2 Bottle of mead – please indicate whether sweet or dry
- T3 Bottle of red wine; kit or original, please state
