The Upton Film Club was formed in 2017 as the result of the response to the Village Questionnaire, and its aim is to show popular movies in a convivial setting. There is no need to become a member – simply turn up to the screening.
There is a bar for purchasing drinks before, at the interval and after the showings.
The showings run every other month throughout the autumn and winter period and the films are posted on the village Facebook site as well as posters and flyers.
The films are ordered through filmbankmedia.com, with the proceeds from the box office and bar sales paying for the film licence (which is over £100 per screening) and the hire of the hall.
Where possible we will suggest a number of possible titles for the next screening. Films are usually recent and have only just gone to DVD.
