Film Club

The Upton Film Club was formed in 2017 as the result of the response to the Village Questionnaire, and its aim is to show popular movies in a convivial setting. There is no need to become a member – simply turn up to the screening.

We currently meet every other month (except in the summer holidays) on a Friday evening at the Village Hall. Entrance is currently £5 (£2.50 for children), and we run a bar selling wine, beer and soft drinks. The proceeds from the box office and bar sales are used to pay for the film licence (which is over £100 per screening) and the hire of the hall.

Where possible we will suggest a number of possible titles for the next screening and solicit the preferences of the membership. Films are usually recent and have only just gone to DVD. To be kept informed about future showings and to take part in the selection process, please sign up to our newsletter.
