The Upton Village Volunteer Group was formed in a very loose way as a result of several parishioners volunteering to undertake tasks around the village when they completed their Parish Plan questionnaire back in 2004. Since that time a member of the Parish Council has organised working parties to do such jobs as litter picking, hedge cutting, re-laying paving slabs, clearing an overgrown part of the churchyard, clearing an overgrown section of the stream, installing new play equipment, installing new safety mats, mowing the recreation ground and many other tasks.
Unfortunately the group has recently been disbanded but it is hoped to get it re-organised in the near future
