A big thank you to all those who gave up their time to join the working party that achieved so much in the Recreation Ground on Saturday 27th June.
I’m sure many of you will have noticed the hedge has been cut revealing the road signs once again and those that use the play area will have noticed that the bank has been cut back and cleared of stinging nettles to keep your little ones out of harm’s way.
The trees along the railway embankment were also cut back to allow access to the lawn mower, which in turn will halt their gradual encroachment on to the field. This together with the removal of all other overhanging branches around the recreation ground will make the life of our grass cutting volunteers easier and keep them from getting injured.
On that note, on behalf of all those that use the recreation ground we would like to thank those of you who give up your time to cut the grass. The field is looking great this year.
