The Taming of the Shrew
Watermill, 27 October 2006
For our second outing we booked for the always popular Watermill at Bagnor, and the equally renowned all-male Propeller Company.
We dared to increase the number of tickets to six cars full, and sold out, with new members joining us and new drivers braving the side roads and impossible parking. We even coped with priority parking for the Parhams’ van and wheelchair.
The performance was very well received, played amazingly straight and with more sympathy for Kate than Petruchio, and with a very contemporary interpretation of Petruchio’s outrageous attire (or lack
of it!). Laughs came aplenty, and the magic of the venue compensated for the horrors of finding the car again after the show.
