The Highways Agency will be undertaking essential road maintenance works on the A34, between the West Ilsley Interchange and the A417 overbridge near Harwell. The works are due to start in January 2007 and are programmed to finish in March 2007, weather permitting.
The works will be undertaken seven days a week, 24 hours a day. A contraflow system will be installed in two phases on both the southbound and northbound carriageway, allowing one lane in each direction at all times. Northbound slip road closures at the Wesy Ilsley and Chilton Interchanges will also be included when traffic is in contraflow on the southbound carriageway.
