The Nutcracker
New Theatre, Oxford, 17 January 2008
As the evening of the performance drew near things took on nightmarish proportions with so many complications for Malcolm, but with calm and fortitude he dealt with all the problems and we all enjoyed the evening. For some there was again the convenience of the minibus, and in all some 30 people – including an increased number of non-Uptonians – enjoyed a magical evening.
From the opening scene to the final curtain we were entranced by the lovely costumes, the wonderful dancing and Tchaikovsky’s beautiful music. The dancing of Marie, the Prince and all the dolls was superb and the Nutcracker Doll was quite amazing. A truly wonderful evening.
