Artweeks

March 30, 2008

Artweeks in Upton will be held from May 3 to May 25.

In Upton Joan Durbin will have her studio open May 3-11, (closed on the Tues. Wed. Thurs.) exhibiting paintings in acrylic, watercolour and pastels, as well as having artist’s cards for sale. Many of her paintings are of local areas, especially the old railway embankment.

Sidney Hardwick will also have her studio open displaying her pottery.

As South is launching the 3 weeks of the Artweeks festival, Joan has organised a “Taster” exhibition at the Vale and Downland Museum in Wantage, with the aim of bringing together diverse examples of the work being shown across the wide area covered by the South Region of Artweeks 2008. The exhibition will run from Tuesday 29th April to Friday 9th May, 10am to 4pm daily except Sundays and Bank Holidays.

Free Artweeks guides are obtainable mid April from museums, libraries, tourist information centres, Upton Post Office, Blewbury PO and Savages, or can be downloaded from http://www.artweeks.org/.
