Upton Village Fete defied the weather forecast on Saturday under fair skies.
The crowds enjoyed the usual offerings such as the white elephant, book, cake and preserve stalls, with Blewbury Brass Band providing a musical backdrop to the stars of the show, the Wallingford Dog Training Club. Tea and cakes did a very brisk trade in the village hall.
Fortunately the rain held off until the end of the fete, when the organizers and helpers managed to get drenched in a torrential downpour. Total takings exceeded £1900, with net proceeds of over £1700. Many thanks to everyone who took part.
