Blewbury Women’s Institute meets on the 4th Wednesday of each month at
7.30 pm, normally in the Vale room of Blewbury Village Hall. It is open to
women of all ages from Blewbury and surrounding areas.
We love to have visitors, if you’d like to come along with someone else or
find out more, ring our Secretary, Joy, on 850543 or email
blewburywi@gmail.com. You will be made so welcome – we all love to meet
new friends, do come along.
As well as the monthly meetings with interesting speakers, we organise trips
to the theatre, guided walks, lunches, garden visits, coffee mornings and
craft workshops. We also have weekly Mah Jong sessions, monthly Scrabble
(evenings or afternoons), monthly craft nights and now run a book club.
Our next main monthly meeting is on Wednesday 25th October 7.30pm in the
Vale room. We will enjoy hearing about “My life and times as a film extra”.
Our speaker has appeared in all sorts – from ‘Midsomer Murders’ to ‘Father
Brown’. What does a film extra do? The highs and lows: Does one get to
meet the stars? Does one get fed and paid? How does one become an extra?
Do come along.
