Recycling Facilities

Get your waste to the right place

Oxfordshire County Council have made an online tool to help people repair, reuse and recycle more.

The Waste Wizard is a new online tool to kill the confusion around recycling and help Oxfordshire defeat General Waste.
Type in your postcode and the name of any item to find out whether it can be reused, repaired, donated or recycled.

Recycling points within the area

  • Orchard Centre car park: Glass, Shoes, Textiles
  • Tesco car park: Books, Glass, Shoes, Textiles
  • Edinburgh Drive car park: Glass, Shoes, Textiles

Oxfordshire County Council runs the Drayton Refuse Collection Centre, on the  Steventon Road B4017 between Drayton and Steventon. The site is open seven days a week from 8am to 5pm, and from April to September on Thursday until 8pm.

The following materials can be taken to the Drayton Recycling Centre:

  • Batteries – household and car
  • Bicycles
  • Cans
  • Cardboard
  • Chemicals – household
  • Computer monitors
  • Foil
  • Fridges and freezers
  • Gas bottles
  • Glass – bottles and jars
  • Glass – sheet
  • Green waste for composting
  • Light bulbs and fluorescent tubes
  • Metal – scrap
  • Oil – engine oil only
  • Paper
  • Plastics – mixed soft plastics
  • Soil and rubble
  • Televisions
  • Textiles & clothing
  • Tyres – small quantities for which there is a charge
  • White goods – cookers, fridges, etc
  • Wood
