New Social Event Planned for Upton
Members of the Village Hall Committee are considering setting up ‘drop-in’ sessions at the Village Hall whereby anyone will be able to call in for a cup of tea or coffee and a biscuit.
It is proposed to hold the sessions twice monthly. If the idea proves popular, it will offer everyone a meeting place to catch up with old friends, make new ones and get to know other people.
Although members of the Committee have offered their time to help run this new initiative, more volunteer helpers will be required if it is to work successfully. So, if you like the idea and would be willing to join the team, please contact Yvonne Collins. (Tel: 850989 or yvonne.p.collins1@btinternet.com).
Found – child’s gilet
We found a lovely blue gilet down by the play park on Saturday (7th October) which had been there at least a week – hence the reason we decided to rescue it.
Lead and Copper Thefts
There has been a series of thefts of lead and copper from roofs.
Bogus Unwanted Clothes Collection
A commercial collecting company, Byronswell Ltd., has been operating in the area, appearing to masquerade as a charity.
You are advised not to donate clothing to this company, but to take them to a registered charity.
St Mary’s Fete – Thank You
A big thank you to everyone who helped in any way with the success of the fete.
